22 Mar The Box Cafe – review
A Taste Of The Sunshine – The Box Cafe is one of those hidden gems tucked away in Norfolk street, where they serve delicious Turkish food. Their meze and traditional Turkish oven fare is something not to be missed, but they also serve the more traditional food you would expect in a cafe. They’re open 6 days a week from Monday to Sunday.
Last week Saturday was one of those days again. I thought I would be able to set off in time to have the breakfast I had heard so much about; the Turkish platter at the Box cafe. However, when the clock hit 10 I realised, that I either had to miss out again or give them a call. The Box Cafe is on my way to town so I could have a quick breakfast.
The Box cafe opens at 10 am so I gave them a call just after to order my Turkish breakfast. When I arrived 10 minutes later, I was able to tuck in straight away. A good start of a day of touring Cambridge with scrambled eggs, Turkish sausage, aubergine borec, olives and a nice coffee. I have to admit that I had a small cheese pastry too as they looked very appealing.
Why go?
Slightly off the beaten track and a quiet haven, a stone throw away from the Grafton Centre. Great food, especially their Turkish food. Don’t forget to check out their daily specials!
