09 May Dining At The Cambridge Colleges
Note October 2017 – We no longer organise these events. Please contact the colleges directly.
College food with a twist – Always dreamt of sipping champagne in the courtyard of one of the oldest colleges in the world? A place where famous inventors and world leaders used to dine? The exclusivity of dining at the Cambridge Colleges lies in it’s surrounding. A historic room at one of the Cambridge Colleges, elegantly set, candle-lit tables, enjoying wines from historic wine collections and sampling gourmet food in areas normally off limits to the public.
The historic colleges have a rich food history and an impressive collection of wine. They have some of the best chefs working for them, who on their turn compete every year in a Cambridge Culinary Competition in eight individual food classes. Last year’s winner was Clare College. The Cambridge Food Tour is very pleased to be able to offer you a fine dining experience at a secret location in a Cambridge College on the 25th of May. Due to its exclusivity, there are only limited seats available. Booking early is essential as there are only a few places left.
The evening starts at 7.30pm with a glass of Prosecco and canapés at one of the oldest college courtyards in Cambridge (weather permitting) followed by a 3-course fine dining experience.
Around 8 pm we will take you to a stunning private dining room where the table is set with stunning table silver, quoted by some people as the finest in Cambridge. You can expect an evening sampling fine British food with a twist paired with fine wines from the historic wine cellars of the college.
