We work to high standards to guarantee your security and privacy. All our transactions go through a secure booking system and your credit card and personal information are encrypted.

When booking on a mobile or tablet, the secure lock sign is visible as the booking screen opens up in a new window. However, when viewing on a desktop computer/laptop we use pop-up windows so the sign and code are obscured but your booking is still secure.

For further details, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.

What is the group size?

  • As we will be visiting small local shops and pubs, the maximum number of people on a tour is restricted to 14.
  • For private tours and corporate events, we tailor the tour and we can go to a maximum of 75 depending on the type of tour.
  • For the scheduled tours, we need a minimum of 4 participants to run the tours.
  • We reserve the right to cancel the tour if we don’t reach the minimum numbers. We will always offer an alternative date.

If you would like to bring more guests, then we do need to know no later than 2 hours before the start of the tour. Preferably earlier. All our food and drinks are pre-ordered and we do have a maximum number on our tours. Most of the time we cannot exceed this due to limited space at the places we visit. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate guests, who haven’t pre-booked and turn up on the day.

Private tours and events

Something to celebrate or a team building session? Let us design a food tour around you, to match your favourite food and drinks, tastes and created with an absolute commitment to the best experience. Private tours start from 10 and events from 12 or a minimum charge. Rated by TripAdvisor as one of the top attractions to do in Cambridge and as one of the top 20 food tours in the world!

Is there a waiting list or can I book on the day of the tour?

There is no official waiting list. Please send us an email or give us a call on 01223 269991 to find out more.

Is the tour children friendly?

Although children of all ages whether walking or in a stroller can join our Lunch Tour or Taste of Cambridge, the recommended age to participate in the food tastings is from 8 years onwards. All other tours are adult only.

Do I have to tip the tour guide?

It is not mandatory, but if you are happy with the tour and the services of your guide, you might want to honour this by giving your tour guide a tip. Our guides will be even happier as they will keep any tips for themselves!

Is the tour interesting for locals or UK residents?

Absolutely! Although it is all about Cambridge and British food, you might not be aware of the interesting stories behind them. Even being local to Cambridge, you might find out new facts, discover new areas of Cambridge and learn where to buy some of the best food and drinks in Cambridge.

Dietary restrictions and food allergies

Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies when you purchase your ticket and we will make sure that we accommodate your needs. However, it might not always be possible.

Cancellation policy

Please check our cancellation policy for details.

Bottles of water on our Food Walking Tours

We don’t hand out bottles of water to do our bit to save the planet.
The Cambridge Food Tour donates to WaterAid UK instead.

Gift vouchers

Do you want to surprise someone with a Foodie gift, then this is an excellent present for them. Please visit the food tour vouchers page to find out more.  Please check your spam box if you haven’t received the confirmation of payment and the voucher.

Why do I have to pay a bookings fee?

Unfortunately, there is no way for us to accurately charge the value of the ticket fees to the purchaser of the voucher, as we have no way of knowing what the recipient will use the voucher for. We have set-up our E-Certificate system to be cash-card based to provide the recipient complete flexibility in choosing which of your experiences they wish to use its value for. So even though the purchaser may have a specific tour in mind, it is up to the recipient to choose how they wish to spend the value. When they go to redeem it, the value of their card is simply applied towards the end total of their purchase. Same as when you use your Starbucks Gift Card – the purchaser may have a latte in mind, but might not have considered the value of taxes, or which size you might want, so what they purchased for you may not fully cover what you actually wish to buy.

The vouchers are only valid for our food walking tours and not for the restaurants listed on our website. We merely share these with you and are not part of our operation.
