29 Sep Infiniti Tastemaker and the Cambridge Food Tour
Cambridge is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the UK. Given the stunning beauty of the Cambridge University colleges and picturesque back streets, both regularly featured on popular television and the big screen, this comes as no surprise. However, behind the impressive architecture and achingly pretty lanes lies another surprise, the vibrant and booming food scene.
Far from the first thing that springs to mind when thinking of a traditional, old University town, the flourishing food scene here is often overlooked. Whilst many have heard of dining in Hogwarts-esque halls at Cambridge University, most don’t realise that the city has an abundance of outstanding food to offer outside of college dining. The food in Cambridge, in reality, is just as varied as the diverse local community itself.
The bespoke Infinity Tastemaker weekend included the stunning scenery of Cambridge and the culinary delights of two of the UK’s leading chefs Daniel Clifford, head chef at the exquisite 2-Michelin star restaurant Midsummer House and Mark Poynton, chef patron of the innovative 1-Michelin star restaurant Alimentum in Cambridge. The outskirts of Cambridge have an abundance of appealing getaways too. For this luxurious foodie escape, we headed to Tuddenham Mill, only 40 minutes drive through the countryside, a stunning converted watermill and provides the perfect spot to kick off your shoes, relax in your own wood-fired hot tub and enjoy a gourmet dinner.
