Korean pop up restaurant

About Fashion, Artisan bakes & Korean Pop Up

When I started my food tours about a year ago, I knew it was going to be fun as I love food and Cambridge. One thing I didn’t know was, that I was going to meet so many interesting people. I should have guessed as I have worked in the hospitality industry for many years. I have had people from  every walk of life an from all over the globe on my tours with the Australians and the Americans in the top 2.

Food Tour with Michelle

Running food tours I attract an array of interesting foodies too. From a local cooking teacher, ex-farm manager of Jimmy’s farm to chef’s and self-confessed foodies. A few weeks ago I had a very interesting guest on my tours. Kyung ( Michelle ) Lim is from Korean descent, but grew up in the USA. She recently relocated to Cambridge with her husband, who works in the IT business.

On our tours we walk, eat, drink and talk a lot. So I soon found out, that she just qualified as a pastry chef and is keen to take on an internship with one of the local restaurants, but there were more surprises to come…

I am keen follower of the London Foodie and on my bucket list is to attend one of Luiz’s pop  up restaurants, which are in big demand. Michelle has worked with him on one of his pop up restaurants in the past and have been bitten by the bug, she is now planning to run Korean pop up restaurants in Cambridge too. The first one will be in January.

Yesterday she sent me a link to her blog Kyums and although there isn’t a lot of content yet, what is there is amazing or I actually should say ‘bloody’ amazing. Food definitely inspires design here…

Keep an eye on her blog and follow Kyung (Michelle) on Twitter on @kyumsday as this is only the start of something very exciting!

So watch this space!
